DELRAY BEACH, FL - Bernard Madnick, 91, formerly of Waterbury, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2018, at the Delray Medical Center. He was the husband of Rose (Kramer) Madnick.
Mr. Madnick was born March 14, 1926, in Waterbury, the son of the late Charles and Rose (Bernstein) Madnick. He served his country during WWII as a member of the U.S. Navy, stationed on the Destroyer USS Ellyson. He resided in Waterbury before moving to West Hartford.
He was the founder and owner of Warehouse “M” and Associates, distributing furniture throughout New England. He was the Co-founder of Overnight Sofa, a Furniture manufacturing company located in Hickory, North Carolina. Most recently Mr. Madnick was a resident of Westbrook and Boynton Beach FL.
In addition to his wife of 69 year, Mr. Madnick is survived by his children, Carole Riccardi and her husband Steven, Michael Madnick and his wife Leslie Levine and Marc Madnick and his wife Allene; his grandchildren Stacy, Alliysa, Lauren, Todd, Michelle, Katy, Samantha, Lindsey, Julia, and Jake; his great grandchildren Brianna, Kera, Louis, Charlotte, Regan, and Ava.
Arrangements – A Graveside service will be held on Sunday January 21, 2018 at 11 am at Hebrew Benefit Cemetery, Stilson Rd., Waterbury. Shiva will be observed Sunday following the service as well as Monday from 1-7 at the family home in Westbrook.
