Bella Gaetano

Bella M Gaetano, age 89, of Cheshire passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her family after a brief illness.

She was born on April 6, 1924, the daughter of the late Philomena (DeLeon) and Saverio Ostuno. A life-long Cheshire resident, she was married to the love of her life the late Philip J Gaetano for nearly 50 years.

Mrs. Gaetano was co-owner of Gaetano Construction and a longtime member of the Wallingford Country Club. She had many hobbies and interests, but her greatest joys and delights came from spending time, entertaining, and feeding family and friends. She enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid gardener, and a lover of birds (especially cardinals). She was a seasonal resident of Naples, Fl and a member of St Thomas Becket Parish.

Mrs. Gaetano is survived by her eight children, Joseph Babineau and his wife Janet of Windham, Edmond Babineau and his wife Carol of VA, Susan Babineau-Roberts and her husband Raymond of NJ, Nancy Weber and her husband Brian of Cheshire, Ernest Babineau and his wife Suzanne of Ellington, Mary Ann Wasilewski and her husband Gary of Wallingford, Philip Gaetano and his wife Laura of MT, and Robert Gaetano and his wife Beth of Bethany; her brother John Ostuno and his wife Gloria; her sisters-in-law, Marguerite Ostuno, Francis Aliano, and Helen LaRock; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter; and many more relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Antoinette Nelson; her brothers, Dominic Ostuno, Joseph Ostuno, and her beloved son, John.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 27, 2013, 9:15 from the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. to St. Thomas Becket Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
