WATERTOWN- Mrs. Barbara (Rochon) Kane, formerly of Watertown, passed away on Wednesday Jan.22, 2014 at the Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Robert G. Kane who passed away in 1992.
Mrs. Kane was born in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Howard and Esther (Swenden) Rochon and was educated in the Waterbury school system. She had been a Waterbury resident until moving to Watertown in 1981. She was a retired employee of the Southern New England Telephone Co. where she had been Supervisor, having worked for the company over 45 years. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Watertown and had been a member of the Ladies Guild of the parish.
She leaves one brother, Howard Rochon, Jr. of Prospect and several nieces and nephews, including, Cynthia D'Angelo of Oakville, Sandra Kelly of Waterbury, Gail Dombrowski of Waterbury, Gordon Rochon of Bristol and Howard Rochon, III of Watertown. She was predeceased by a brother, John Rochon and a niece, Carol Flores and a nephew Gary Rochon.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday Jan. 29, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main St., Watertown. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church, prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 669 Platt Rd., Watertown. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. is assisting with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to a charity of their choice.
