previous home in Cheshire with her loving husband the late Carl Bober. Barbara was also preceded in
death by her parents the late Elsie Glasnapp Mitchell and James B. Mitchell and her two sisters Helen
M. Chadwick and Marie A. Johnson. Barbara was a hard working employee of Meriden's International
Silver Company, who retired after more than 40 years of service in 1989. She and Carl were devoted
parishioners of Holy Angels Church in South Meriden since 1957. She is survived by a nephew, Alan R.
and Lori Chadwick, East Hampton; Two nieces, Karen J. and William Flemming, Manchester, and
Nancy J. Johnson, Berlin. Also by great nieces and nephews Curt, Cary, Brian, Mike and Robin and
several of their children. Barbara shared an interest with her family in horses and was an active
member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the Connecticut Horseman riding clubs during
the early years of each organization. Barbara loved living in Cheshire and is well remembered as the
friendly lady who lived on Blacks Road who was always working hard in her yard but never missed the
opportunity to wave or greet those that passed by. She was loved by her neighbors and many friends
would stop in for some great home cooked meals and a few stories she loved to tell. She was a
diehard Red Sox and UCONN basketball fan and never missed a game no matter what the
circumstances. In her final years at One MacDonough she maintained the same outgoing friendship
quality with everyone she met and had many new friends that were blessed to have known her.
