Hedwig Balthasar, 85, the widow of the late Peter Balthasar, passed away on Feb. 11, 2016, at Beacon Brook Health Center.
Hedwig was born in 1930 in Germany the daughter of Karl and Bertha (Rotman) Stepputtis. She spent many years working in food service for Timex and Waterbury Hospital. Hedwig loved taking trips to the casinos and was an avid Bingo player. She loved the yankees, and was an avid fan. One of her favorite hobbies was crocheting and sewing hats, scarves and socks for the homeless.
Hedwig is preceded in death by her husband, her son Peter, and her 2 brothers and her sister.
She is survived by her daughter Brigitte Schuerlein, of Waterbury, her friend Patrick, and numerous cousins.
Services will be private.
