Germaine Aline (Lavoie) Ayotte

Vonore, TN Germaine Aline (Lavoie) Ayotte, 96, formerly of Prospect, CT and the widow of Norman Ayotte, Sr., died peacefully on February 23, 2022 at her home in Tennessee with her son by her side.

Germaine was born January 20, 1926 in Grand Isle, Maine daughter of the late Maxime and Winifred (Madore) Lavoie. Mrs. Ayotte moved to Tennessee in 2016, having lived most of her life in Prospect, CT. While living in Prospect, she was a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church, a member of the church Ladies Guild and enjoyed spending time at the Prospect Senior Center. Mrs. Ayotte was an avid gardener, a retiree of Duracell and a former employee of Line Manufacturing.

Mrs. Ayotte is survived by her son, Norman Ayotte, Jr., her grandchildren, Tanya Ayotte and Jeffrey Ayotte, whom she cherished dearly and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Ayotte was predeceased by her son, Robert F. Ayotte and eight brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at the convenience of her family at Prospect Cemetery, Prospect, CT. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers and to honor Germaine’s memory, donations are requested to St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect, CT 06712.
