Austin Nadeau

CHESHIRE - Austin A. Nadeau, 95, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the Highlands Health Care, Cheshire. He was the husband of the late Nivette F. (Laverdiere) Nadeau.

Mr. Nadeau was born February 5, 1919 in Haverhill, MA the son of the late Armand and Delia (Dagneault) Nadeau. He graduated from Fordham University in 1947. He taught at Mt. Saint Michaels from 1947 to 1951 before moving to Cheshire. After moving to Cheshire he taught at Cheshire Academy where he was a Mathematics Master.

After retiring from teaching in 1973, Mr. Nadeau opened his own business, Austin Real Estate as well as working part time on Cheshire Academy's Building and Maintenance Crew. He retired to Delaware in 1989 returning to CT in 2009 after the passing of his wife.

Mr. Nadeau is survived by his three sons Michael of Reedsport, OR, Thomas and his wife Cheryl of Bel Air, MD, and Joseph and his wife Debra of Cheshire; as well as his four grandchildren Stephen, Christian, Jake and Michelle.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 15, 2014, 9:15 from the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St., to St. Bridget Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
