Austin J. Smith

Austin J. Smith, age 91, formerly of Beacon Falls, entered into rest on Wednesday, February 03, 2016 at his home in Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of the Late Doris (Wilcox) Smith for over 66 years. Austin was born on December 15, 1924 in Waterbury, son of the late Austin and Ethel (Waldorf) Smith.

Austin lived in Beacon Falls for most of his life and retired from Uniroyal. In his later years, he and his wife, Doris enjoyed camping and relaxing on the weekends.

He is the beloved father of Debra Antonioli and her husband Robert of Plymouth and Nancy L. Hammond of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by his 5 loving grandchildren, 3 cherished great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Austin is predeceased by his son, James A. Smith and all of his siblings.

Arrangements- Funeral Services for Austin will be private and burial will be held at the convenience of his family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave, has been entrusted with his arrangements.
