Walter Ashrut

Waterbury- Walter M. Ashrut, 61, of 78 Ernest Ave, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2010. He was the husband of Marie (Evans) Ashrut .

Mr. Ashrut was born on September 29, 1949 in Waterbury a son of the late Stanley A. and Agnes (Slames) Ashrut. He worked at Eyelet Design as a tool maker. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a member of the Lithuanian Club and the Brooklyn VFW.

Besides his wife of Waterbury he is survived by three daughters, Jessica Ashrut and her husband Cecil Obar, Alicia Ashrut and Miranda Ashrut all of Waterbury, one son, Justin Ashrut and his wife Kristina of MA, two brothers, Myron Ashrut and Carl Ashrut and his six grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his two sisters, Janice and Sandra Ashrut.

A service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect. Burial with full military honors will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m.
