Naugatuck-Earl W. Ashe, 90, of 27 Shadduck Road, died on Friday May 7, 2010 at Paradigm of Prospect Healthcare after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Tessie (Petriszyn) Ashe.
Mr. Ashe was born on September 19, 1919 in Seymour a son of the late Adolphus and Emma (Shortsleves) Ashe. He was retired from the Naugatuck Chemical Plant where he worked for over 26 years. He was a Veteran of the US Airforce Veteran having served in the China Burma India Operations. He was owner and operator of Earl's Texaco at the Kennedy Corners for over six years. He also worked at EWR of Waterbury. He was a master seargant in the CT National Guard for six years.
Besides his wife of Naugatuck he is survived by four daughters, Claudette Edmonds and her husband Tom of Prospect, Cynthia and her husband John McKim of Sutter Creek, CA, Denise Dessureau of Naugatuck and Marlene Ashe also of Naugatuck, one son, Thomas Ashe and his wife Patricia of Terryville, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by five sisters, Mildred Ericson, Beatrice Slocum, Mabel Geschimsky, Irene Zonas and Cora Rosenthal and four brothers, Harold, Carl, Raymond and Richard Ashe.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Rd, Naugatuck. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church at 9:45 a.m. Burial with full military honors will be in St. James Cemetery. There are no calling hours and the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck is in charge of arrangements.
