CHESHIRE - Arthur E. Paolillo, 89, passed away Wednesday April 18, 2012 shortly after his wife Gloria passed away, at the Highlands Health Care Center in Cheshire.
Mr. Paolillo was born July 8, 1922 in New Haven, the son of the late Gaetano and Colomba (Tresesano) Paolillo. He was a graduate of Hillhouse High School in New Haven and was a communicant of St. Bridget Church where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the Italian Campaign where he obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a manager at Caldor Department store retiring in 1997 after 30 years of employment. He, with his wife Gloria, founded the Cheshire Art League where he served as President. He was also a Past President of the Cheshire PTA.
Mr. Paolillo is survived by his son Christopher Paolillo and his wife Shirley of Stoughton, MA; his daughters Donna D. Kinch and her husband Orin of Yarmouthport, MA and Pamela S. Couture and her husband Thomas of Osterville, MA; his five grandchildren Tammy, Robyn, Erica, Nicole and Benjamin; as well as his great grandchildren Dylan and Cooper.
Arrangements - Funeral services for both Mr. and Mrs. Paolillo will be held on Tuesday April 24, 2012 10:15 from the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. to St. Bridget Church for Mass at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:30 until the funeral procession leaves for church.
