Armando Urbano

CHESHIRE - Armando Urbano, 89, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Riccio) Urbano.

Mr. Urbano was born June 15, 1933, in Ruviano, Italy, the son of the late Giacomo and Angelina (Califano) Urbano. From farming in Italy before coming to the United States in 1966, Armando took pride in working hard to support his family. He retired from Sikorsky Aircraft in 1999 after a twenty-year career in the shipping department.

Besides his wife of 62 years, Mr. Urbano is survived by his sons, James Urbano and his wife Deb, and Virgilio Urbano; his siblings Alberto (Lina) and Bernardo (Rosa) Urbano; great friends, Mario and Nancy Mastrioanni; his grandchildren Joseph, Matthew, Anthony, Jessica, and Christina Urbano, plus numerous nephews and nieces and their families in the United States and Italy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Urbano is predeceased by his siblings Anthony, Frank, Orlando, Salvatore, Ernestina, and Philomena.

His love of family came first with his passion for gardening a close second. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing his vegetables and homemade wine with family and friends. He was loved and will be deeply missed by all.

Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 S. Main St. from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at which time Mr. Urbano’s funeral procession will depart the funeral home and proceed to St. Bridget of Sweden Parish – St. Bridget Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M.
