Cheshire - Arleen E. McLellan, 70, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Yale New Haven Hospital, after a lengthy illness.

Arleen was born August 12, 1950, to Myrtle M. Smith and the late Thomas F. Smith in Malden, MA. They lived in Braintree, MA for many years until they moved to Cheshire where Arleen graduated from Cheshire High School in 1968. Arleen attended Gordon College, Wenham, MA for a short time. She married the late Richard A. McLellan of Cheshire. She is survived by son Richard Brinton McLellan and daughter-in-law, Hallie, their daughter Allison of Southington, son Matthew Alan McLellan of Plainville, her mother Myrtle Smith of Cheshire, sister Eleanor Trocola, (Gary) of Bristol, brother Robert B. Smith (Susan) of Southington, and brother Ernest M. Smith of Cheshire. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, uncle Rev. Robert Smith of Iowa, as well as many cousins. She most cherished her special relationship with granddaughter Allison.

Arleen is fondly remembered as a very friendly and helpful cashier at Everybody’s in Cheshire, then as an assistant manager at the Wallingford Walmart until 2006.
Arleen loved, and faithfully served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and was a active member of Faith Baptist Church, Southington.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at 10:30 AM at Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, donations.diabetes.org.
