NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Antoinette L. "Toni" Johnson, 76, of Naugatuck, passed away at the Smilo Cancer Center at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven early Thursday morning April 25, 2013. She was the wife of Allan W. Johnson.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Waterbury, Feb. 22, 1937, a daughter of the late John and Philomena (Salerno) Salerno and was a Naugatuck resident for many years. Sh was educated in the Waterbury school system and was a received her under graduate degree and master's degree from Southern State University. She was a Special Education Teacher in the Ansonia School system for over 20 years, retiring in 2005. For many years she was a dance instructor with the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Waterbury. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church and the Naugatuck Women's Club.

Besides her husband of 54 years, she leaves her children, David A. Johnson and his wife Christine, Sharon O'Donnell and Richard H. Johnson and Gary W. Johnson, all of Naugatuck; a sister-in-law, Barbara Salerno of Waterbury; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Roland Salerno.

Her funeral services will be held on Monday April 29, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.- Conn.
