Anthony S. Guglielmo, Sr., age 79, of Cheshire entered into rest on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was the devoted husband of Glenda (Nance) Guglielmo for over 53 years. Tony was born on July 22, 1938 in Bridgeport, son of the late Francesco and Mariana (Bruno) Guglielmo, and has been a Cheshire resident since 2014.
Tony was a good man who was deeply spiritual, kind hearted and compassionate to others. He would give the shirt off his back to those in need. Tony served his country with honor and pride with the US Navy, stationed in Groton at the submarine base. He was a seasoned dancer, which is what drew him to The Country House over the border, in NY; where he met and fell in love with Glenda. Tony and Glenda were soon married and settled in Ansonia for over 50 years, during which time they started their family. He enjoyed family vacations at the shore and was an avid bowler. Tony worked for Black & Decker as a prototype developer for over 35 years until his retirement.
Tony is the beloved father of Anthony Guglielmo, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Cheshire, and Elana Parker and her husband, Max of San Diego, CA; he is also survived by his cherished grandchildren; Julia and Jack Parker, Anthony Guglielmo and his wife, Rebecca, Alyssa McLean and her husband, Brandon, and Ariana Fragosa and her husband, Adam; and a very dear great grandchild on the way. Anthony is survived by his brother, Frank Guglielmo and his wife, Sandra of Oxford; he was predeceased by his sister, Fiorina Pomarico.
