Prospect ' Anthony Carpentino, 83, of Genest Ave. and formerly of Cheshire, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Dorothea (McNamara) Carpentino.
Mr. Carpentino was born September 30, 1925 in New Haven the son of the late Frederico and Maria (Iannotti) Carpentino. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the U.S. Army and was a longtime member of the V.F.W. Post 8075 in Prospect. He was employed by the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 1982.
Mr. Carpentino is survived by his daughter Deborah Brislane of Prospect; his son Ray Carpentino of Cheshire; a granddaughter Amanda Carpentino of Cheshire; his sisters Phyllis Gentile of East Haven and Lucy Beebe of Waterbury; and countless nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Frederick and his sisters Angelina and Rose.
Arrangements ' Funeral services will be held on Saturday 10:15 from the Slater Funeral Home 242 S. Main St. to St. Bridget Church for Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until the funeral procession leaves for church. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale Ave., Memphis, TN 38105.
