STAMFORD, CT - Anne Jennesse Pitts 60, passed away Saturday June 11, 2016. Anne was born November 11, 1955 in Waltham, MA, the daughter of Robert and Phyllis (Roberts) Pursley.
She graduated from Madison High School in Vienna, VA in 1973 and furthered her education at Radford University obtaining her degree in English with a minor in secondary education. She continued her studies at the University of Rhode Island, William Mitchell College of Law and Florida State University studying Government Studies, Criminology, and Pre-Law.
Anne had an array of political experience working as a Press Secretary, Legislative Assistant and Executive Assistant in Rhode Island as well as Florida where she lived for over 26 years. She served on the Board of Directors for the Ronald McDonald House and was a Guardian Ad Litem for Children without a voice. Anne was an accomplished chef and was inducted into the prestigious “Chaine des Rotisseurs.”
Besides her parents of Stamford, Anne is survived by her sons Thomas Pitts and his wife Jamie of Montclair, NJ, Samual T. Pitts Of New Hampshire and Henry M. Pitts of Boulder Colorado, Brother Mark Pursley and his wife Ann of Atlanta GA, and her three sisters Elizabeth Rock and partner Dr. Francis Proto of Cheshire, CT, Kristin Bowman and her husband Paul of Cheshire, CT, Carol McGuire and her husband Don of Greenwich, CT. Anne is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements - A celebration of life and Funeral Service for Anne Jennesse Pitts will be held at the convenience of the family and there are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire is assisting with arrangements.
