Cheshire - Ann Moriarty, 87, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at her home. She was the wife of the late William J. Moriarty.

Mrs. Moriarty was born February 21, 1938, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Shanahan) Jones. She was a teacher at Cheshire Academy. A life long learner, she graduated from Central Connecticut State University and furthered her education at Southern CT obtaining her Masters. In addition to her time in Cheshire, she lived in a cottage in Old Lyme for 50 years.

She is survived by her sons William J. Moriarty III (Amanda Benner), and Christopher Moriarty (Charlot Rosario); her brother Frederick Jones; her grandchildren Phelan and Caelan Moriarty; her nephews Kevin and Jonathan Jones, as well as several cousins.

Arrangements – Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St. At 11:30 am, her funeral procession will depart the funeral home and proceed to St. Bridget Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 pm. Burial will follow at Duck River Cemetery in Old Lyme. Memorial contributions may be made to Cheshire Community Food Pantry, Inc., PO Box 457, Cheshire, CT 06410, or to the Friends of Feral Cats, 672 Queen St., #1021, Southington, CT 06489.
