SOUTHINGTON- Ann M. Baker, 88, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Masonic Health Care Center in Wallingford. She was predeceased by her husband John A. Baker.
Ann was born May 19, 1922 in Hartford, and was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Marie ( Tamburro) Barone.
Ann was a Bookkeeper at Harbor Petroleum. In her spare time she was a Literacy Volunteer in Meriden, and an avid reader, and bridge player.
Ann will always be remembered as a woman and friend with tremendous strength, courage, and dignity in dealing with many of physical aliments that plagued her throughout her life.
Ann is survived by a son John and his wife Peggy Baker of Cheshire; two daughters Susan and her husband Michael Downey of Wallingford, and Martha Almquist of Boca Raton, FL; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Lena May Barone and a granddaughter Karen Almquist.
Arrangements- Ann's funeral will be held 9 A.M Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, 06410 to St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire, 06410 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in Mt St. Benedict's Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield, CT 06002. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 5 to 7 P.M at the funeral home.
