SOUTHBURY- Anita Liebeskind, 91, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Donald Liebeskind to whom she was married for twenty years. Anita was predeceased by her first husband Haskell Rosenbaum.
Mrs. Liebeskind was born January 9, 1926 in Flushing, NY, daughter of the late Isidor and Ida (Aschkenas) Kopleman.
Anita was an artist and known for her love of papermaking which she also taught. She volunteered at the Mattatuck Museum, was the Past President of Beth-El Synagogue in Waterbury, and loved traveling the world on countless trips with Donald.
Mrs. Liebeskind is survived by her children Marian and her husband Andrew Bowman of Fairfield, David Rosenbaum of New Haven, Peter and his wife Susan Liebeskind of Hillsdale, NJ, Michael Liebeskind of New York, NY, Jonathan Liebeskind of Burlington, MA, and Jane and her husband David Wolfman of Lexington, MA; a sister Hinda Block of New York, NY; her grandchildren Judy and her wife Amy, Josh and his wife Christina, Joe, Dan and his wife Danielle, Jen and her husband Jesse, Becca, Rachel, Sam, Adam, Hannah, Julie, Molly, Debbie, Dara and Ben; and three great-grandchildren Amelia, Stella, and Dalia. Besides her first husband she was predeceased by her sister Shirley Greene.
Arrangements- A Funeral Service for Anita will be held “Today” 11 A.M, Friday, August 4, 2017 at B’nai Israel, 444 Main St North, Southbury, CT 06488. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at temple. Burial will follow in Beth-El Cemetery, 804 Boyden St, Waterbury, 06704. Shiva will be observed at the family residence on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 4 to 9 P.M, with minyan being held at 7 P.M. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Waterbury, 496 Chase Ave, 06704 is assisting the family with arrangements.
