Andrew Mitchell

Wolcott ' Andrew C. Mitchell, 80, of Todd Rd., passed away peacefully at his home, to be present with the Lord, on Tuesday June 23, 2009. He was the husband of the late Catherine (Surgener) Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchell was born June 1, 1929 in Waterbury the son of the late Dana and Eleanor (Larson) Mitchell. He was a Korean War Army Veteran serving in Germany. He was a long time employee of Pratt and Whitney in Southington and was a Supernumerary for the Wolcott Police Department. He was a true gentleman who was kind and caring. He will be dearly remembered and missed by all.

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his son Charles of Waterbury; his brother Dana Mitchell of Belleview, FL; his sister Bertha Allison of Wolcott; his grandchildren Ashley, Chad, Joshua, and Evan; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements ' A graveside service will be held on Monday June 29, 2009 at 11 a.m. at New Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Wolcott Volunteer Ambulance Assoc., P.O. Box 6066, Wolcott, CT 06716 or to the Wolcott Congregational Church, 185 Center St., Wolcott, CT 06716. The Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Ave. is in charge of arrangements.
