Andrew Joseph Buckley, 82, of 241 Jinny Hill Rd, passed away Friday, March 6, 2009 at Mid- State Medical Center in Meriden. He was the husband of Lillian (Lobner) Buckley whom he was married to for 61 years.
Andrew was born June 5, 1926 in New Haven and was the son of the late Newton and Julia (Evoneski) Buckley. He attended school in West Haven. Following school he served in World War II with the United States Navy, Seabees on Guam, after his service he joined the Hamden Police Department where he was a police officer for 10 years. He also owned and operated Hamden Trucking Company and was self employed as an auto detailer until his retirement.
Andrew was a member of the Day Spring Lodge No. 30, A.F. & A.M. of Hamden.
Besides his wife Andrew is survived by a daughter Linda Ann Buckley, of Cheshire, and an Aunt Ellen (Green) Buckley of Amenia, NY.
Arrangements- There are no services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Slater Funeral Home, 242 South Main St, Cheshire is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Andrew's name may be made to Mid-State Medical Center, 435 Lewis Ave, Meriden, CT 06451.
