WATERBURY- Mrs. Andrea (Salvarria) Ojeda, 89 of Waterbury, passed away Wednesday morning Jan. 16, 2013 at Aurora Senior Living in Waterbury. She was the widow the he late Benigno Ojeda.
Mrs. Ojeda was born in Calle Sol, Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, Dec. 11, 1923, a daughter of the late Eduardo and Carmen (Bonilla) Salvarria and had spent most of her life in Waterbury, returning to Puerto Rico for several years. While a resident of Puerto Rico she served as a Court Stenographer in the judicial system there, later returning to Waterbury to be with her family and friends.
She leaves one son, Stephen A. Snyder of Copperas Cove, TX: three daughters, Jane Negron of Parrish, FL, Jacqueline Snyder of Waterbury and Diane Barnard of Woodbury; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Betty Colon and a son, James Snyder.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday Jan. 19, 2013 at 10:15 am from the Alderson Funeral Home of Waterbury, 9 Holmes Avenue and proceed to the Middlebury Congregational Church, 1242 Whittemore Rd., Middlebury for services at 11 am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Book of Remembrance of the Middlebury Congregational Church, P.O. Box 268, Middlebury 06762-0268
