Ruth Anderson

Naugatuck – Ruth Pratley Anderson, 80, passed away at VITAS at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Paul Anderson.

Mrs. Anderson was born on October 27, 1934 in Greenwich, Ct., a daughter of the late James and Mary (Burke) Pratley. She was a homemaker to her husband and three children. In addition to taking care of her family, Ruth enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. The caption from her high school photograph best describes her as “an Irish beauty with a twinkle in her eyes – where there’s Ruthie, there’s laughter”.

Ruth is survived by her son, Paul Jr. and his wife Trudee of Southington and her two daughters, Marilyn Tabaka, and her husband Richard and Linda Elizabeth Anderson, both of Naugatuck. She also leaves behind a brother, Robert Pratley, four grandchildren, John, Carl, Kelly, and Manda, two great grandchildren, Kyle and Tess, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, James and Thomas, and three sisters, Elizabeth, Barbara and Dorothy.

A mass with special intentions for Mrs. Anderson is planned for Sunday, March 15, 2015 at St. Mary Church, 178 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, Ct. The Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, is in charge of arrangements.
