Ana Sofia Almeida

NAUGATUCK - Ana Sofia Almeida, 30, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital. Ana Sofia was born March 22, 1985 in Vila Real, Portugal the daughter of Elza Goncalves and Armando Almeida.

Ana Sofia came to the U.S. at the age of 7 and was a longtime Naugatuck resident. She loved dancing and especially spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, reading and coloring/art.

Besides her mother of Naugatuck and her father of Portugal, Ana Sofia is survived by her three sons Christian Almeida-Palomba, Alexander Almeida-Palomba, and Fabian Almeida-Palomba all of Waterbury; her sister Michelle Almeida and her husband Maicon of Danbury; the grandmother of her children Sheila Palomba; her aunts and uncles, Julietta Almeida & Antonio Cabeleiro and Florinda and Tony Almeida; her niece, Mia as well as many other family members and loved ones in Portugal.

Arrangements – Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016, 9:15 from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St., to Our Lady Of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Friday, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
