Ana Rodrigues

PROSPECT - Ana D. Rodrigues, 85, passed away Tuesday January 21, 2014 at Highlands Heath Care Center in Cheshire.

Ana was born February 7, 1928 in Chaves, Portugal, the daughter of the late Joao and Amelia Rodrigues. She came to the U.S. from Portugal in 1973, living in Mineola, NY before moving to Naugatuck in 1981. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and was known for her love of the outdoors, gardening and taking walks.

She is survived by her daughter, with whom she made her home, Maria Adelaide Pereira and her husband Octavio of Prospect; her grandsons Michael Pereira and his wife Christina and Steven; her great grandchildren Anthony and Louis; her brother Jose Rodrigues and his wife Gernana of Naugatuck; her sister Albertina Santos and her husband Frank of Middlebury. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Antonio Rodrigues and her sisters Elena Teixeira and Elisa Alves.

Arrangements - Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 25, 2014, 9a.m. from the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. to Our Lady of Fatima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2911 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, CT 06518.
