WATERBURY- Alpi J. Ricciardi Jr., a.k.a. “Bitsy”, 75 passed away, Wednesday September 30, 2015 at Yale New Haven Hospital.
He was born November 3, 1939 in Waterbury son of the late Pauline Ricciardi-Grant and Milan Grant Sr.
Bitsy was a graduate from Leavenworth High School. In 1962 he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He worked at Lewis LesCare Kitchens as a Cabinet Maker for many years until starting his own business doing so. He loved playing Bocci, Horseshoes, and having family picnics.
Mr. Ricciardi leaves two daughters RaeGina Ricciardi-Bendler and her husband Robert of Naugatuck, Rachel Ricciardi-Meza and her husband Edgar of Bucerias, Mexico; five brothers Richard Ricciardi and Alan Grant of Waterbury, Paul Grant of Oakville, Milan Grant Jr. of Plymouth, and Thomas Grant of Boca Raton, FL; six sisters Deloris Sconziano of Wolcott, Trudy Grant of Cheshire, Rose Yezierski of Oakville, Allison DeSorbo of Waterbury, and Susan Ryan of Terryville; and two grandchildren Chance Bendler, and Jackie Meza. He was predeceased by his sister Joann Fassio.
Arrangements- A Graveside Service with Military Honors for Bitsy will be held 11 A.M Friday October 9, 2015 at New Pine Grove Cemetery, 850 Meriden Road, Waterbury, 06705. Burial will follow after the service. A Time of Remembrance will be held at the graveside from 10 A.M until the service starts at 11 A.M.
