Harrisburg, PA Francisco Jorge Almeida, 52, husband of Carla Maria Baptista Almeida, died unexpectedly on February 8, 2022 at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA.

Jorge was born on January 20, 1970 in Carrazedo de Montenegro, Portugal; the first born son of Francisco Rodrigues Almeida and the late Maria de Jesus Teixeira Almeida. During his childhood years, Jorge was raised in Carrazedo de Montenegro Portugal and then immigrated with his parents to the United States, settling in the Naugatuck area. Jorge was currently living in Harrisburg, PA where he was the owner/operator of Carrazedo Trucking Company. Jorge had been a licensed CDL driver for over 30 years.

Jorge had a love for thrilling watersports, such as boating, jet skiing and fishing. When not on the water he enjoyed spending time golfing and flying drones. He had a deep love of cooking exquisite meals and crafting infamous cocktails. Jorge enthusiastically followed various sports team, with a lifelong devotion to the Dallas Cowboys and the soccer team F.C. Porto. Most recently Jorge had become a fan of the Hershey Bears, a local favorite in his hometown.

In addition to Carla, his loving wife of 10 years and his father Francisco of Portugal, Jorge is survived by his three daughters, Shelbie Rose Almeida, Courtnie Anne Moreira Almeida, Jordyne Marie Moreira Almeida of Fairfield, CT; his brother and sister in law, Danny Teixeira Almeida and Sara Jan Almeida and their four children, Cristiano, Noemie, Lia Maria and Cila, of Southington, CT.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin Street, Waterbury, CT. Everyone attending is kindly asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be at a later date in Carrazedo de Montenegro, Portugal. Calling hours are Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, CT. In lieu of flowers and to honor Jorge’s memory, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
