CHESHIRE- Alice Reckmack a Cheshire resident for over seventy years passed away peacefully Sunday April 28, 2013 at the Southington Care Center. She was predeceased by her husband Robert P. Reckmack.
She was born November 13, 1921 in Naugatuck daughter of the late Alexander and Jennie (Mikulski) Smolinski.
Alice was a retiree from New Departure in Bristol where she worked in the Shipping Department. She was a Communicant of St. Thomas Becket Church in Cheshire, and avid gardener, loved working with Ceramics, a fan of the Boston Red Sox, and most of all loved watching her grandchildren play sports.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the Southington Care Center for the care they showed Alice in her final days.
She is survived by three daughters Sheila and her husband Patrick Mesite of Cheshire, Sharon and her husband Richard White of Westbrook, and Susan and her husband Jeffrey Savelle of Cheshire; a sister Ceila Tata of Naugatuck; four grandchildren Robert and Shaun Mesite, and Alyson and Lindsay Savelle; a great grandson Grayson A. Mesite; and a sister in law Therese Reckmack Sataline of Cheshire. Alice was predeceased by a brother Paul Smolinski.
Arrangements- Alice's funeral will be held Wednesday 9:15 A.M May 1, 2013 from The Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St, 06410 to St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 North Brooksvale Road, Cheshire, 06410 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Bridget Cemetery, Higgins Road, Cheshire. Calling hours will be held from 8:30 A.M until the procession leaves for church. Donations in her name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Southington Care Center, 45 Meriden Ave Southington, CT 06489.
