Alice Marie Mozian

Alice Marie Mozian, age 94, of Cheshire, entered into rest on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Elim Park Health Care & Rehabilitation. She was the devoted wife of the late Ralph Mozian for over 63 years, with whom she shared a birthday. Alice was born on July 27, 1930 in Danville, PA, daughter of the late Edward and Alice (Dowd) Dempsey.

She was raised in Danville, PA and attended St. Cyril’s Academy before attending Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia, majoring in History. After a brief illness, she transferred to the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Lancaster, PA where she earned her Registered Nursing degree. Later, she obtained her teaching certification at Millersville State College in Millersville, PA. While living in Lancaster, working at St. Joseph’s Hospital, she met the “love of her life”, Ralph. In 1969 the Mozian family moved from Lancaster to Cheshire. Alice worked as a teacher at Platt High School in Meriden, teaching an introduction to the health field class which included bringing her students to the former Meriden-Wallingford Hospital. Following her retirement, Alice rejoined the workforce, this time she continued her teaching at Wilcox Tech, to begin what is now their CNA Program. Throughout her years teaching, Alice was well respected and kept a good rapport with her students. Alice held many volunteer positions throughout her life; including with her church parish in Lancaster, The League of Women Voters of CT and as a dedicated member of the Auxiliary of the MidState Medical Center for many years.

Alice enjoyed taking care of her family. She took pleasure making their house a home through her love of cooking, decorating, listening to Classical and Broadway music and backyard birding. She had a green thumb and was adept at needlework and other crafts. She enjoyed drives through Hubbard Park and trips to the ocean. She was a voracious reader and considered books to be like friends.

Alice is the beloved mother of Alicia Mozian of Orange; Chris Mozian and his wife, Laurie of Southington; and Greg Mozian and his wife, Sue of Basalt, CO. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Kristen Lopez and her husband, Francisco; and Nathan Mozian; and her great-grandchildren, Rey and Leo Lopez.
