Waterbury - Alice G. Palmer, 98, passed away November 28, 2015, at Paradigm Health Care of Prospect. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Raymond L. Palmer.
She was the daughter of the late Carl and Anna (Johnson) Gustafson and had lived in Waterbury all of her life. She was a graduate of Wilby High School. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, active in sports, especially swimming and golf, where she had been a former member of the Watertown Golf Club. She was an avid cat lover and enjoyed singing. She retired as a switchboard operator from Mattatuck Community College, now known as Naugatuck Valley Community College. She was a longtime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church where, for 17 years, she was the coordinator and President of the Women’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Organization and recently became a member of the Northfield Bible Church.
Alice traveled to Sweden, Norway and Denmark and enjoyed the company of many friends in those countries. She loved the Lord and her neighbor and was always willing to help others.

Alice is survived by her sons David L. Palmer, of Waterbury, and Gregory A. Palmer, of PA; her granddaughter Lisa R. Palmer, of CO, as well as several nieces and nephews throughout the country.
Arrangements – A graveside service, presided by Pastor Brian E. McGray of Northfield Bible Church, is scheduled for Saturday, December 12, 2015, at 11 a.m., Old Pine Grove Cemetery, Meriden Road, Waterbury. A memorial service, to be held at Northfield Bible Church, will be announced at a later date. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Memorial contributions may be made to Northfield Bible Church, 10 Camp Hill Rd., Northfield, CT 06778.
