Oxford, CT Madeline Aldrich, 87, the widow of Leslie R. Aldrich, Sr., passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at her home.

Madeline was born on July 8, 1928 in Waterbury, CT a daughter of the late Gertrude Miller LaBonte and Andrew Uhas, Sr. Madeline attended Naugatuck schools and had been a resident of Oxford for most of her life. Madeline was a former employee of the U.S Rubber Company, Southbury Training School and Phillips Medical and she also worked as a CNA in a local nursing home. Family was number one to Madeline and she treated everyone like family and always welcomed people into her home. She enjoyed bowling, the outdoors, crafts, and her home in Oxford. She was also a volunteer for the Oxford Special Olympics.

Madeline is survived by her eight loving children, her son, Leslie R. Aldrich, Jr., her son, Allen Aldrich and his wife Leanne, her daughter, Marie Elderkin and her husband Ken Gagne, her daughter, Patricia Smith, her daughter, Delores Niedzwecki, her daughter, Lori Miani and her husband Paul, her daughter Diane Kindle and her husband Charlie and her daughter Pamela Aldrich, 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, Madeline was predeceased by her sister, Sandra Mitchell and her brother, Andrew Uhas, Jr.

A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church Street, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice
